Your new company

Your new company is a 'super budget' hotel chain brand, operating over 20 hotels across the globe. The company in itself, is actually part of a wider group - though your reporting line will be to the CEO of the division - which turns over around £10 million.

They are now looking for a new Finance Director to come on board the team, and steer the function to greatness. The budget hotel sector has grown faster than any other hotel sector in the last 30 years, and this company is keen to make sure that they continue to be a part of this trend.

Your new role

As the Finance Director of this company, you will be ensuring the smooth running of the entire finance function, including Operational Finance, Tax, FP&A, and Group Reporting. Each of these teams has its own management structure, and therefore you will have 4 direct reports in the Head Office function, and circa 15 indirect reports from the hotels themselves.

You will also be reporting into the CEO and the board in this role, and so it is vital that you will be ensuring all deadlines are kept to, and that the quarterly reporting is accurate.

Further, it will be your responsibility to work closely with the FP&A team in the next few years as the business looks to go through an aggressive expansion plan. This will involve numerous site appraisals, and contract negotiations.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful for this role, you will be a fully qualified accountant, with experience working in either the hotels, restaurant, or Private Members club sector - and currently operating in a Group function.

You will also need to have experience managing a team, and a proven track record in maximising their potential, both from a decreasing of costs, and an increase in revenue.

Further, it is important that you have experience working in a role, which has afforded you the opportunity to work on M&A activity.
