Applicants are invited to apply for the Finance Business Partner vacancy within the Mersey division, based at the Port of Liverpool.
Role Purpose: To provide financial and commercial support to Business Unit and Service Operational Managers. Support business improvement projects, assist with both developing customer led and capital investment proposals and contribute to decision making processes.
This Finance Business Partner role will include the following responsibilities:
-Ownership of month end management accounts, detailed quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes
-Assist operational teams by producing periodic financial and non-financial reports plus variance and trend analysis
-Support Departmental Managers with annual budgeting and ongoing cost control and monitoring
-Provide financial support (as required) to support the senior management team when considering new business opportunities and bid proposals
-Develop and implement more focused KPIs and management information to support improved business and financial performance
-Support the business in dealing with customer enquiries and develop commercial solutions
-Assist with Group finance initiatives from time to time as appropriate
Applicants interested in this Finance Business Partner role should ideally possess the following skills and experience:
-Must be a qualified Accountant with post qualification experience, experience within Logistics would be advantageous but not essential
-Confident and professional, with the ability to represent the division with customers, suppliers and advisers and communicate at all levels within the division and the Group
-Excellent IT skills; must be proficient in using all Microsoft packages and financial management systems. Experience of working with complex financial models is desirable
-Ability to prioritise and manage own workload; comfortable working independently. Results driven and used to working in a fast moving environment
-Excellent analytical and business partnering skills; able to analyse information and present it meaningfully ensuring it is understood by all
-A team player, with an ability to communicate financial matters clearly and confidently to varying stakeholders
-A full valid Driving Licence preferred due to regular travel requirements within the business units
