Finance Business Partner Fundraising

The RAF Benevolent Fund was established in 1919, and since then they have supporting the RAF family through challenging times. Based near Regents Park in the West end of London, this prestigious charity provide support and morale through well-being programmes, support for families, welfare breaks, financial assistance and advice and advocacy.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation. The finance department are undergoing a change which will ensure they are best placed to support the charity for years to come. The team are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual to join as a Finance Business Partner for Fundraising. There is a real chance to hugely affect the amount of money available to the Fund through effective fundraising and as such this is a highly important and exciting role.

Job Responsibilities:
*Produce within agreed time scales, high quality management accounts and analysis for the F&C directorate and Support teams, to inform budget holders, SMT and trustees.
*Highlight significant budget variances and potential business risks as well as recommend action to be taken.
*Understand performance drivers and identify issues that need to be raised with budget holders or SMT.
*Identify and record accruals, deferrals and prepayments.
*Support the F&C team in meeting monthly and yearly closing routines.
*Support budget holders in the provision of reasonable forecasts, and operational trends that will contribute to sound data based decision making.
*Lead the annual planning and budgeting cycle for F&C, HR, IT and Facilities and COS assisting budget holders with developing and evaluating operational and business plans in line with strategic priorities and fostering collaboration across the Fund.
*Support the production of the annual budget and longer term plans for the F& C department, making sure that numbers align with business plans and agreed strategy and that underlying assumptions are tested and evaluated properly.
*Provide financial analysis of activities included in the budget and assist with appropriate budget phasing.

Preferred Skills:
* CCAB Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIPFA or equivalent. Passed Finalists will be considered)
* Strong experience of working in an accountancy environment. Charity sector experience would be beneficial
* Experience of leading a budgeting process for a designated area of a business
* Experience in mentoring less experience finance staff
