I am recruiting for a Finance Assistant in Maldon. This position reports to the Finance Manager and plays a supportive role by processing invoices and providing credit control support.

Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5pm

Responsibilities include:
Processing invoices and dealing with queries
Matching, batching and coding to the correct department
Obtaining authorisation on invoices from the relevant Manager
Processing monthly credit card statements
Allocating VAT as required
Checking expense claims and highlighting any issues to the Finance Manager
Assisting in reconciling account statements
Agreeing supplier statement with the ledger
Chasing missing invoices
Providing support to the Credit Controller
Printing off bank statements
Allocating funds to customer accounts and allocating fees
Responding to emails
Calling customers to ensure they have received invoices due
Chasing overdue payments and instigating legal proceeding as required
Credit checking customer accounts and adjusting customer credit limits
Emailing copy invoices
Liaising with the Sales department to answer customer queries

Skills and experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confident in using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Impeccable time management skills
Strong confident telephone manner
Strong organisational skills

Experience in Credit control role essential
Being used to working with people at different levels and different departments

Good with numbers
Strong eye for detail
Confidence to provide feedback
Team Player
