I am working on an exciting opportunity for a finance assistant to work in a varied and fulfilling role for an industry leading organisation. This is a newly created role due to an internal promotion. Although initially a 12 month contract, there is a high probability that this role will develop into a permanent placement.

Job Description:

  • Develop and maintain the company purchase order system - assisting other departments with this as required
  • Processing of all purchase invoices - matching to PO's, coding, gaining authorisation
  • Maintain the company supplier approvals process
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Processing and approving all employee expense claims
  • Management of and accounting for all company credit card expenditure
  • Prepare payment runs to ensure that all suppliers are paid within agreed terms
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve any invoice queries
  • Request copy invoices from suppliers
  • Complete statement reconciliations
  • Set up new suppliers, ensuring all details are updated accurately
  • Month end reporting for Financial director
  • Supporting the Finance Director with month end processes
  • Bank reconcilliations
  • Some chasing of outstanding payments

Requirements:

  • Previous experience within an accounting role (18 months minimum)
  • Full understanding and exposure to credit control and purchase ledger processes
  • AAT qualifications are highly advantageous
  • Intermediate Excel skills (vlook ups, pivot tables)
  • Ability to work to tight time deadlines within a fast paced role
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Motivated and positive working attitude
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Can start on a reduced notice period and can commit for a minimum 12 month period
