Finance Assistant

Part-time: 15-20 hours per week

Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

Reporting to: Finance & HR Manager

Job Purpose: To provide finance, administration and business support for the Finance and HR manager and wider management team.

Key Responsibilities

Sales/Purchase Ledger

  • Credit control - complete twice weekly and provide update to team.

  • Raise sales invoices.

  • Produce month end sales documentation for clients and reconcile against sage.

  • Allocate cash received.

  • Receive & resolve customer & supplier queries.

  • Set up new customer & supplier accounts on sage.

  • Complete new customer set up process.

  • To keep customer and supplier accounts up to date on sage.

  • Reconcile supplier accounts and process payments as requested.

  • Enter purchase invoices onto sage.

  • Request missing VAT invoices.

  • Finance & Administration Support

  • Assist with month end management accounts including posting of journals, prepayments & accruals.

  • Assist with preparation of year end accounts.

  • Maintain accruals and prepayments records.

  • Manage and process expenses.

  • Banking administration.

  • Reconcile bank accounts.

  • Filing of all accounts paperwork.

  • Manage stationery orders and budget.

  • Any other tasks as requested to support Finance Manager and the wider team.

  • Complete all tasks in line with company deadlines and procedures

  • Skills & Abilities

  • Must have previous finance administration experience and be practised in using Sage Accounts, completing monthly management accounts and posting journals.

  • Strong communication skills, particularly telephone manner.

  • Excellent organisational skills with an ability to manage own workloads and deadlines.

  • Attention to detail and an ability to flag issues/problems.

  • A willingness to work as part of a small team.

  • Proactive approach to work.

  • A flexible approach to the role and a willingness to take on new tasks as the business grows.
