The Role:

Here at City Plumbing, we are going through change, a lot of change!

After recently becoming a new stand-alone business (we are now known as the Highbourne Group), we’re looking to recruit a Finance Analyst (Sales) to join our superb team of finance professionals.

As an Analyst, you’ll work alongside various stakeholders within our business and help them make decisions by providing your interpretation of financial data.

This means you’ll be an integral part of our team, and help drive the improvement of business performance.

Areas of focus:

  • Produce reporting for senior stakeholders to identify growth or improvement opportunities

  • Providing meaningful insights into the performance of sales & trading margin by analysing customer accounts, segments, commercial categories, and regions. 

  • Financial assessment of our key strategic initiatives and post implementation reviews.

  • Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts to find the key drivers for profitability and growth.

  • Delivering weekly trading results at review meetings and senior business stakeholders.

  • Providing financial support to various members of the team including Sales, Commercial, Operations & Marketing.

We have a long track record in nurturing Finance talent and it is often our analysts that will develop into more senior areas of our business.

This is a hybrid-based opportunity with true flexibility to work from home, but you should be within commutable distance of our newly refurbished offices in Crick, Northamptonshire.

This means you could be based in Corby, Coventry, Hinckley, Kettering, Leamington Spa, Leicester, Loughborough, Lutterworth, Market Harborough, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Northampton, Nuneaton, Oundle, Peterborough, Rugby, Rushden, Tamworth, Wellingborough, as well as Crick itself.


You’ll live and breathe our Customer First ethos, with an innovative and agile approach to problem-solving.  You’ll enjoy working collaboratively with the wider Finance team and you’ll thrive on delivering excellent financial analysis and reports.

Required skills and competencies:

  • Part Qualified or the equivalent (think ACCA/CIMA/ACA).

  • Analytically-minded with experience of working alongside senior stakeholders.

  • Commercial experience in financial modeling (reporting, budgets, forecasting etc).

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with excellent time-management skills.

  • Able to hand large data volumes with a high degree of accuracy. 

  • Continuous improvement mindset & able to learn new skills

You’ll have an analytical mind and be someone who enjoys working alongside senior stakeholders, by showing your initiative and desire to find solutions to problems.

It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: Financial Analyst, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Finance BP, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, Renewables, Sustainability, Construction, Building Products.
