Joining the TUI Group Product & Purchasing team as Finance Analyst – Contracting Operations, you will be accountable for proactively providing robust and insightful tools and reporting to optimise the efficiency and performance of Product and Purchasing. Specific focus will be on providing financial and performance insight to the Directors/General Managers of Purchasing and preparation of Product & Purchasing business cases.

This role will be based in our Luton, UK office.
What you will be doing
As Finance Analyst – Contracting Operations for Product & Purchasing you will be responsible and accountable for aligning areas to build efficiency and optimise profitability through consistent and robust management reporting and giving insight into the Purchasing operational KPIs. The role is expected to support the strategic goals of the function through pro-actively reporting information.
The role will support two Directors of Purchasing (and their teams) so will require excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to work effectively with a geographically dispersed team.
In order to succeed as a function it is vital to produce and analyse key performance indicators at a buyer and regional level. As the role holder you will play a key part in delivering this information on a weekly/monthly/quarterly and ad-hoc basis. This will include but not limited to hotel yield discount levels, cost base movement based on buyer output versus target and prior year, contracting performance, etc.
You will be responsible for producing the monthly Regional Review pack for meetings with the Directors of Purchasing. You will be involved in the design and implementation of further periodical reporting and be expected to provide insightful information for review/challenge by the Commercial Finance Business Partner. This could be new reporting or enhancement of existing reports.
The role is responsible for the creation of the accommodation business cases for approval through working with the Purchasing teams you support and source market Product/Finance teams to drill down into the detail of each deal and ensure financials stack up. This will include but is not limited to reviewing and challenging where necessary the profitability assumptions, the volume assumptions and allocations within TUI Group, etc.
From time to time you will be expected to deliver information and ad-hoc analysis with defined narrower scope aligned to the current conditions within the market at a specific moment in time. Examples of such analysis could be the reviewing the performance of specific contracts or creating packs to support director’s meetings.
What we are looking for
- Part-qualified financial professional or equivalent experience
- Analytical, accurate, numbers driven, and process orientated person
- Experience of tour operator and / or product environment preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience of building forecasts, budgets and process management
- Forward thinker who can balance future planning with operational requirements
- Good communicator with the ability to interact a diverse group of stakeholders and satisfy the information needs
- Proven decision making with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity
- International capability – ability to work with multiple stakeholders across a range of local markets
- Commercial acumen
- High proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications
- Role will require international travel
