Role: Field Service Engineer (switchgear/substation)
Location: South Based
Package: £35,000 - £36,000 plus on call, OT, bonus, pension, private health, vehicle, share scheme, 36 days holiday
One of the world's largest energy companies and OEM's are looking to expand their field engineering team. In addition to existing assets, the company have just won two major contracts with DNO's based in the South so there's plenty of work about.
These roles don't come around often and the company are regularly voted in the top #10 UK companies to work for so you'll be in good company. If you have a strong electrical background installing/servicing switchgear/transformers into substations then get in touch.
*You'll be tasked with installing switchgear and transformers into substations on the client site.
*Servicing of existing substations
*Replacement of busbars
*Installation of relay panels
*Installation and testing of Low and Medium Voltage electrical distribution equipment (switchgear and transformers)
* Good practical Electrical and Mechanical skills
*Pre visits to assess access requirements.
*Assist in preparation of bills of material.
*Control of Sub contractors when required.
*Provide out of hours support on a rota basis.
*Create and issue test documentation and reports.
*Support the commercial colleagues as required.
*The ability and confidence to work alone on own initiative
Ideal location will be the South and the majority of the work is in that area but you`ll need to be flexible regarding travel. There may be times when you have to stay away a couple of nights a week so you'll have to be up for that.

*£35k - £36k (may stretch a little more for someone with right experience)
*Overtime (most engineers earn £45k+ including OT)

Our client look to invest the best part of £30 -£50k in every new employee over your initial and ongoing training periods with them.
Long term the plan is to get you up to AP (Authorised Person) level which again ensures you a decent increase in pay and responsibility. This won't happen overnight but it's worth putting out there, so sets expectations on long term opportunities which are notoriously great with this company.
