Field Service Engineer - Compressed Air

A successful family owned engineering company are looking to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer to add to their existing service team.

You will be responsible for servicing, repairing and refurbishing compressed air systems across East Anglia, working to a high quality standard to provide the best possible service to their clients.

Your main duties will include:

  • Service, repair and refurbish air compressors and associated equipment manufactured by various suppliers to customer satisfaction
  • Install and commission new pipework and new and used compressed air equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines
  • Attend breakdowns, identify faults and provide engineering solutions
  • Service/repair compressed air tools
  • Identify additional stock/repair parts requirements on a job by job basis
  • Maintain van stock, ensuring up to date and in saleable condition
  • Ensure completion of tasks within given timescales and to customer satisfaction
  • Ensure completion of all routine administrative processes
  • Ensure communication of customer comments and any remedial/further requirements
  • Identify and communicate prospective sales

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualities:

  • Sound engineering skills/training are required and experience across the compressor range is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
  • Good written, IT and oral communication skills
  • Diagnostic & problem solving skills are required. You will need to be calm under pressure
  • You will be required to work at height and so will need to be physically able to do this. Training for scissor lifts/booms and associated licences will be provided as required if not already held
  • You will be methodical and able to follow instructions from manufacturers
  • You will have an understanding of pressure systems and follow health and safety instructions
  • On site decision making and good customer liaison skills will be required
  • Good written, IT and oral communication skills
  • You must have and maintain a full driving licence

The company offer a competitive starting salary dependent upon your level of experience, a company van, uniform, contributory pension scheme, 20 days holiday and a parts/fittings bonus scheme.
Working hours are Mon-Fri 8am to 5pm with one in four weekends on call.
