A great opportunity for a commercially-minded scientist to move into a customer facing scientific role!
This role involves providing pre and post-sales support to customers across the UK, including product demonstrations, training, troubleshooting and identifying areas where the sales team may be able to increase revenue. The successful recruit will work closely with the sales, service engineer and marketing team to ensure efficient and excellent quality customer service.
CUSTOMERS: NHS and private clinical laboratories
TERRITORY: Central/Southern UK with national travel required.
PRODUCTS: Assays and Automation - Molecular Immunohaematology and HLA genotyping
Arrange and carry out promotion, demonstration and customer support for new and existing customers of the company's products.
Help improve the company products and assay knowledge by providing solutions and methods for fault finding and solving
Perform demonstrations and give presentations in order to highlight to the customer the full range of the company's solutions, product range, their use, features and benefits
Identify areas to upsell the company's products at existing customer sites and relay this information back to the field sales team
Provide customer training and technical support (including complaint handling) after instrumentation has been installed
Improve customer satisfaction and retention through education of equipment and product optimization
Gather information, market trends and customer perceptions of competitors to assist the sales team in developing their sales strategies
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biomedical Science or related science field
Several years' post-degree research experience working in a Clinical or Research Laboratory with experience in molecular or antibody-based assays, HLA genotyping, in a transfusion or transplantation laboratory setting, keen to move into a customer-focused role.
