The Opportunity: Are you looking to join a dedicated and focussed team? Have a head for numbers and data? and enjoy being out on farms daily? We have an exciting opportunity for a Farm Research Officer to join an existing team in East Anglia. You will visit farms in your region, speaking to farmers to gain additional information related to their business, including their farming and land management activities. You must be confident using Excel spreadsheets, have a head for numbers and enjoy working with data. Full training is provided. You don't need to have any prior experience, just a willingness to learn and some knowledge of British agriculture.

The Company: A UK based, international business providing financial consultancy services to the agricultural sector.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To manage a number of farms in your region, undertaking visits on a daily basis
  • To collect, analyse and process business information from the farms
  • To maintain and develop good working relationships with farmers
  • To work collaboratively across the team to achieve business needs

Skills you will need:

  • Good general knowledge, and understanding of British agriculture and the ability to appreciate current issues faced by farmers and growers in the UK
  • Willingness to learn about accounting principles
  • Good communication skills with the ability to build a rapport quickly and easily with farming customers
  • Exceptional attention to detail, high level of accuracy and numeracy
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Clean UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel within your designated area


  • Some knowledge of farm business management
