A well known Children's Charity are seeking a Family Support Worker to join them on a temporary ongoing basis, working in a new service for the charity which works with Autistic children and their families.
Your new role
This is an interesting role as it is a pilot service for the organisation. As Family Support Worker you will liaise directly with families who have had their child diagnosed with Autism and who are waiting on support from other agencies. You will have your own case loads and so there is an element of independence and responsibility with this role. You will be tasked with building relationships both with the children, their families and external bodies who may be involved such as health care support and the trust.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a minimum of an NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care or an equivalent discipline. More importantly, you will have previous experience in working with children and young people and it is desired that you have had some exposure to children on the autistic spectrum. You must also have a valid UK driving licence and you will be willing to undergo an Enhanced Access NI and NISCC registration.
