Outlook Contact Services are fully accredited by the National Association of Child Contact Centres to provide supervised and supported contact between children and families. We currently require flexible bank staff to support our service and provide professional, high quality contact which ensures the safeguarding of children and young people at the centre at all times. The role will involve weekend work and some evenings, therefore flexibility is an essential requirement of the successful candidate. The Family Contact Supervisor will provide full supervision of family contacts within our fully equipped contact room or within the community where this is in accordance with the needs of the child and their family.
Reporting to: NACCC Coordinator/Team Manager/Head of Service Accountability:
You will be supervised by the NACCC Coordinator as well as being accountable to the Team Manager and Head of Service.
Hourly Rate: £8.00 - £11.50 per hour, DOE and Allocated Role Expenses: as agreed with line-manager
The Family Contact Supervisor will contribute to the work undertaken by the centre on behalf of CAFCASS, Local Authorities and/or independent Agencies. They will provide supervision of contact sessions between children and their parents / families. Ensuring the safety and well-being of the child/young person is paramount, whilst completing accurate reports and maintaining records, whilst ensuring client confidentiality at all times.
The Family Contact Supervisor will communicate and engage with the families to enhance family relationships, facilitate positive change and work towards achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. Therefore it is essential that you are assertive, understanding and can build trust within the service and beyond. The post holder will contribute to assessments, court reports and meetings as required. You will need to be available to attend staff meetings, training and supervision opportunities to ensure your continued personal development and ongoing competency within the role. The Family Contact Supervisor will ensure that the requirements of all relevant policies and procedures are complied with and, where appropriate, assist with enquiries from families using the service.
The successful applicant will need a full driving licence and use of a vehicle. They will need to be computer literate, have a good standard of education, experience of working with children and families and some knowledge of the Children Act 1989.
Due to the nature of the role, we will pay for you to complete an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, prior to starting with us.
