The Neonatal Unit at St Georges Hospital provides specialist medical and surgical services to premature and sick newborn infants requiring intensive care, high dependency care, special care, transitional care and community care. It is the lead centre for South London Perinatal Network but also provides specialised services for babies with a variety of medical and surgical beyond SWL. The early intervention of developmental care on the Neonatal Unit aims to reduce the developmental risks for infants born prematurely or with perinatal problems through an individualised, family centred model of care.
The post holder will play a key role in the provision of family-centred care programmes for Newborn Services. Help to develop evidence-based developmental care practices on the unit. Facilitate and support staff to develop a culture where family-centred care is embedded in everyday practices in order to lessen the parents’ anxieties of having their baby on an NICU. Provide support and advice to other units within the Network.
We are looking for an enthusiastic member of staff to join the family centred care team enabling us to provide exceptional service throughout the week. This will be a part time post with flexible hours.
