My client has a fantastic opportunity for a Facilities/Health and Safety Assistant to join them. This well established business is keen to find someone with maintenance or facilities experience and who understands the importance of Health and safety in a work place. You would be responsible for the administration and coordination of the companies Health, Safety and Environmental plans, ensuring that they comply with all relevant legislation and help drive the company forward to reducing their environmental footprint.

Responsibilities:

  • Making sure that the office is fit for purpose and appropriate for office working. It must be compliant with HSE regulations at all times and if not take immediate action, escalating it to Line Manager, if required
  • Review and update the Facilities Risk Register and Business Continuity plans ensuring they match the company’s
  • Responsible for the production and updating of all policies and procedures, including staff awareness and training as required to ensure the company is compliant with all current and new legislation. This includes but not limited to work station assessments, fire and first aid training
  • Produce Health and Safety reports and statistics, as and when required, investigating accidents/incidents and near misses, and carrying out Health and Safety checks and audits
  • Responsible for daily building security and plans
  • Responsible for providing day to day physical activities to ensure a smooth functioning of the company
  • Responsible for purchases and ongoing contracts for facilities
  • Provide back-up cover for all other team roles as required to cover absence, emergencies and peaks in work load. Documenting processes to support this

  • Organised, with a good understanding of Health &Safety and Environmental knowledge

  • Good understanding of Microsoft packages
  • Good communicator
  • Friendly and personable
