Full Time (40 hours + overtime), Permanent Position

Our client a UK leader in the creation and production of men and women’s luxury printed fabric and accessories. Their mill is located at the very heart of silk production in the UK - Macclesfield, Cheshire.

They have drawn upon the skills and experience of local silk dyers and printers to keep the traditional Macclesfield hand-printed silk alive. Utilising local Peak District water sources, they practice ancient methods of dyeing, printing and finishing of bespoke fabrics to create premium printed fabrics and accessories.

They are currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated person to join their production team as a Fabric Inspector.

The role involves the inspection of fabric, printed goods and finished goods for despatch. There will also be some administrative tasks to complete as part of the role.

Key Responsibilities of the Inspector:

  • Inspecting all printed, plain silk and finished goods for despatch.
  • Identify the cause of errors by understanding the process path.
  • Maintaining quality standards of goods on site.
  • Minimising waste fabric.
  • Using a computerised inventory system.
  • Carrying out site stock counts.
  • Ensuring the stock area is kept clean and tidy in accordance with Health and Safety standards.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of printed fabric.
  • Good organisational skills, with a sense of responsibility.
  • Computer literate - Microsoft Excel / Working with stock systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good numerical skills.

Hours of work:

8:30am - 17:00pm Monday to Friday.
