Fabric Engineer/ Maintenance operative

£20,000 - £25,000 basic salary
Location: Reading

Hours: mon - fri, 8am -5pm

This is an exceptional opportunity to enhance your career within facilities services working for a leading FTSE250 FM Outsourcing business. You'll be responsible to undertake fabric works and support the team within an efficient and safe manner, with repairs undertaken as appropriate. Completion off all fabric PPM and reactive works required in various buildings around campus.

Main responsibilities:

  • Need strong background for fabric and building maintenance
  • Pro-actively demonstrate and work to the company's values of People, Passion, Fresh Thinking and Exciting Futures
  • Ensure duties in accordance with all Health and Safety procedures, Codes of Practice and Statutory Regulations
  • Build effective relationships with the client, answering queries, keeping them informed about site activities and developments
  • To safely and efficiently install, maintain and repair fabric, plumbing & painting elements of a building both internal and external.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out to the highest standard of customer service and that work is completed on time, within budget and meets Service Level Agreements or Key Performance Indicators
  • Identify opportunities for, and then organise and manage to completion, any additional works in accordance with any repair and replacement contractual requirements
  • To identify areas for additional works within and out of the specified contractual requirements

Experience and qualifications required:

  • Clear communicator both oral and written
  • Can demonstrate understanding and leading by example for health and safety. Understands the relevance of tool box talks and safe systems of working.
  • Holds relevant professional qualifications (e.g. mechanical, electrical, building services, air conditioning/refrigeration) - minimum standard C&G level III or equivalent
  • Understands the administration and application of a PPM system
  • Able to understand and act on both verbal and written instructions/procedures
  • Must be smart and presentable
  • Relevant qualifications to trade
  • Experience in dealing with all types of maintenance activities
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and safe working practices
  • Strong customer care focus
  • Be proactive and capable of anticipating potential faults
