Prospero Teaching are looking for enthusiastic and experienced EYS SEN Teaching Assistants to inspire and support pupils in one of our excellent Primary Schools in Gateshead. The role is to start either ASAP or from September 2024, depending on the availability of the successful candidates.
The role will involve working with pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis, so the successful candidate will need to be a resilient practitioner and have excellent relationship-building skills.
The School has both full-time and part-time roles available, ranging from 2 to 5 days per week depending on the availability and preference of the successful candidates. The role will involve supporting the pupils with their learning and communicating effectively with Class Teachers to ensure appropriate strategies are used that are suited to the individual needs and learning styles of the pupils to allow them to engage with their learning and make excellent progress.
It is a brilliantly supportive, inspiring, and enjoyable environment for both students and staff. This is a role that will give you the opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of children every day.
This role will involve:
· Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND on a 1:1 basis.
· Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
· Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to support the pupil and discuss/implement strategies and learning activities to promote pupil progress.
· Preparing resources for lessons.
· Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required.
· Having a "hands on" approach to supporting the pupils in their learning, with a willingness to interact, engage and form a positive rapport with pupils.
This role requires:
· An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
· Ideally a recognised Childcare-based qualification, although again, this is not essential.
· An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
· A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
· Experience in classrooms supporting students. Again, this is not essential.
· High levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with pupils.
· A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfil their potential and flourish in education.
· An enthusiastic approach and a willingness to engage with and form positive relationships with pupils.
If you are interested in the role and would like to be considered, please apply for the role promptly as the school are looking for staff to start as soon as possible.
