Our clients are currently looking to recruit an Export Clerk for their offices based in Chelmsford. You will be working within the Ocean Export team working closely with other team members along with customers, clients and agents and will be liaising between customers, suppliers and transport companies to ensure an efficient operational service is provided.
Purpose of the role:
To work within an export team to manage and oversee the whole ocean export process from start to finish within the ocean freight department.
Duties will include:
- You will be first point of contact for all customers and must use the appropriate method of communication.
- Obtain the correct information from the customer to ensure correct measures are in place and all customer needs are met.
- Liaise between Suppliers, Forwarders and agents to obtain up to date shipment information and ensure customers are fully informed of the progress of their shipments.
- Liaise with Customers, Customs and all necessary departments to ensure all documents are received and correct within the designated time frame and correct documentation is on file and set out as per instructions.
- Liaise with transport companies and provide correct information and paperwork to ensure customer delivery requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key customers to develop more business opportunities whilst providing excellent customer service at all times.
- Deal with any queries or problems that may arise and keep the customer informed at all times.
To be successful for the role you will be required to have previous experience of Ocean freight Exports, along with excellent customer service and good administration and IT skills.

Salary £22/25k depending on experience
