Export Sales Advisor

c£27,000.00 per annum

+ £2,000.00 per annum bonus (paid quarterly)


The Company:

Our client is based in Bradford and with easy access from Leeds, Halifax, Brighouse and Huddersfield; they work in partnership with businesses of all sizes across the country and internationally. They help businesses develop their overseas presence with international trading by providing support and advice on trade procedures, they also offer relationship management and dispute resolution. They are now looking to recruit an ambitious and driven Export Sales Advisor to join their Client Services to provide advice on exporting; in return, they will provide you with an excellent training plan with ongoing support, this will include coaching, feedback and mentoring which will help you progress. This will be an exciting and challenging environment to work in.


  • You will provide telephone advice on general export processes and procedures
  • Help first time applicants complete Certificates of Origin, EUR1 and ATR1 documents
  • Carry out follow-up customer care calls within 48 hours of providing a service to new account, ideally working to a minimum of 10 warm business development calls per day
  • Complete registrations on behalf of new users applying for export documentation online
  • By building rapport and relationships with businesses using the service you will use questioning techniques to upsell other services to achieve the company sales targets
  • Respond to all enquiries received over the internet within one hour
  • Handle all applications for documents you will check, assemble, process, database and batch-up export documents, ensuring 100% accuracy
  • Prepare weekly reports for the Directors and Managers
  • Undertake social media tasks including creating and maintaining a professional Linkedin and Twitter profile and post relevant content

Experience Required:

  • At least 5 years previous experience working in an Export role
  • Previous experience of working towards sales targets
  • Strong experience and knowledge of export documentation such as Certificates of Origin, Preferential Trade Agreements, Incoterms Letters of Credits and payment methods used in International Trade

Personal Profile:

  • First-rate time management skills and can prioritise workload
  • It is imperative that you are confident and have excellent communications skills, both verbal and written with experience of presenting to small and large groups of people
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent telephone manner and face to face communication skills
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Flexibility to work additional hours as and when required
  • Must be a car owner with a full driving licence

  • Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (1 hour for lunch)
