Underwriter (full time)


Due to growth and business requirement we have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our Underwriting team.

As an experienced Underwriter, you will be required to make decisions on credit applications which have been referred by the system and assess the customers’ affordability to ensure we are being a responsible lender at all times.

You will do this using a variety of tools and information to help you make your decision incl. Experian, bank statements, payslips etc. With an exceptional awareness of fraud, you will escalate any suspected fraudulent applications to the specialist team for further investigation.

This role comes with a high level of responsibility and decision making however a comprehensive training plan will ensure your success as an Underwriter at Hitachi Capital.

The full time hours are 37 hours per week to incl. one evening shift (up to 9pm) and one weekend day (either Saturday or Sunday).

What we look for

To be considered for this opportunity you will have previous customer service experience and good administration skills. Previous experience in Underwriting is not a mandatory requirement however similar skills and experience are advantageous.

You will possess a high level of accuracy, attention to detail and demonstrable IT skills. You will be a team player, have the ability to build rapport and able to use your own initiative at all times.
