Job mission statement

Work alongside a design team to create and deliver sophisticated, luxury residential projects, overseeing implementation of schemes, providing clients with a turn-key solution. You will be responsible for running assigned projects from concept to completion. Must have immaculate attention to detail and the capability and experience to independently deliver projects and manage junior members of the team

Key Accountabilities

  • Managing assigned projects from concept through to completion
  • Developing initial ideas and acquiring key information about potential projects, discussing requirements in detail with clients (the brief) and setting project schedules;
  • Understanding clients' needs and the needs of the people using the building, developing design concepts in consultation with the client and establishing final briefs;
  • Considering materials and costs according to set budgets
  • Researching and gathering information and photographs relating to the project;
  • Producing 'sample' or 'mood' boards for presentation to clients;
  • Create and present of designs to clients to an immaculate standard
  • Sourcing products, e.g. fittings, furniture, lighting, finishes, decoration and dressing, and providing samples for clients;
  • Assist in preparing detailed working drawings, designs, plans, schemes, sometimes using CAD;
  • Working in a team with other designers;
  • Preparation and checking of tender pack including a schedule of works, FF&E schedules and specifications ensuring delivery of set project programme.
  • Tender management
  • Assist with required third party approvals & consents
  • Overseeing work at the project coordination stage and on site;
  • Working closely with external consultants i.e. with architects and other design professionals, with manufacturers/ suppliers and contractors;
  • Keeping up to date with new developments in the design industry.
  • General Client liaison on assigned projects

Skills

  • A high level of technical knowledge, including AutoCAD skills;
  • Experience in InDesign EstiPC (desirable ) and Gantt charts (desirable)
  • Good drawing skills, including perspective drawing and spatial awareness;
  • Creativity and imagination;
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal, to write briefs, promote and explain ideas, and build relationships with clients;
  • An awareness of building and safety regulations;
  • Knowledge of the wider construction and design industries;
  • Project management skills, including the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines;
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and professionalism;
  • Organisational and creative problem-solving skills;
  • Good negotiating and management skills;
  • Team working, in order to work with a range of other professionals and colleagues;
  • Flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks to meet deadlines:

  • Time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Driving license (desirable )

Salary: £32,000 pa plus Nest pension scheme.
