Job Purpose

Ocado is looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to make it easier for thousands of customers to find and buy products as they shop for their groceries. Working within the Grocery Merchandising team, this role is responsible for continuously improving the quality of our search results. It’s a role that combines customer focus, drawing insight from data and attention to detail to improve search results for customers on Ocado.com and the mobile apps. You will work with the wider Merchandising team, the Trading team, Insight team and suppliers as you work to identify and deliver improvements, category by category, to drive conversion and sales.

Roles & Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying the most impactful areas to focus on to drive search & catalogue improvements across a range of more than 30,000 products
  • Analysing current performance of search & catalogue across the whole range of Ocado categories
  • Assessing and providing insight into how customers shop a particular category by using data and observing customers shopping
  • Liaising with the Grocery Insight team to scope and interpret web analytics to inform your recommendations
  • Working with the Trading team and suppliers to get input on and agree to your recommendations to any changes based on data and logic
  • Implementing changes in an efficient and timely manner to meet the needs of the fast-paced environment
  • Reviewing and assessing the impact of changes made and reacting to any improvements required
  • Evaluate and react to competitors merchandising activities
  • Being aware of the latest product innovations and reacting to this to constantly improve search results
  • Driving innovation and providing inspiration for our customers through continually thinking through new ways to shop that drive conversion and sales

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience in any of: e-commerce, retail, or consumer goods
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • Good degree from university
  • A passion for food!
