Our Basildon client are a European sales and marketing organisation specialising in the marketing, sales and distribution of products from global fmcg manufacturers into the thriving discount channel.

As the sector market leader with a turnover of over £50m (and growing), they have a massive customer network across Europe and beyond, providing an unsurpassed professional service to all their client partners.

Due to an unprecedented increase in growth, our client are currently seeking a high calibre individual to join as a Commercial Support Assistant to significantly contribute to their continued growth, paying up to £20,000 plus other benefits

As part of the Cosmetics category team, you will be assigned to work alongside the category managers within the purchasing and sales functions.

Overall Objective
To provide full information including data manipulation, analysis and administrative support for the category, allowing the rest of the team to concentrate on core negotiation activities in order to accelerate growth and their effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

 Providing market/product research support for buyer in the evaluation of deals

 Completion of all the necessary information for deal negotiation and ordering in a coherent and timely format.

 Booking in of products to an in house processing system

 Reconciliation of stock on arrival and completion of purchase orders

 Reconciliation of deals and coordination of all information related to that deal

 Liaising with internal departments for information related to deals and purchases

 Liaising with supplier/customer to obtain specific deal information, arrangement of deliveries and resolving any day-to-day issues, whilst at the same time identifying any other potential opportunities within those accounts.

 Creation of sales offers

 Creation of a reference database, specific to history of the category

 Market research in the discount channel through regular store visits and identifying potential buying/selling opportunities

Development

Over an initial introductory period, by working and interacting with other key areas of - sales, operations, finance – you will gain a wider understanding of the overall business and work with other team members in other categories of the business. The successful applicant will be willing and able to accept more responsibility as the category grows and welcome career progression into an account managerial role in future.
