An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Business Development team in Leeds or Manchester as one of our two UK based Event Executives. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1 year+ events experience within professional services to join a global law firm and really develop your skills.
The role will be based in either the Leeds or Manchester office; with a regular requirement to work from the other office and therefore flexibility towards traveling is essential.

The events team will be made up of your role covering the Leeds and Manchester offices and your counterpart will be covering the Birmingham and London offices. You will also be part of the wider, global Business Development and marketing team which comprises of over 60 colleagues who work cohesively to achieve their goals. The business development team provides support and advice at both practice group and industry level with much of the work being of an international nature.
Reporting directly to the relevant Business Development Managers, the marketing, and regional office staff, you will provide support to the full range of on-going business development, marketing and other external events within your region. The role will require you to be involved in pre-event planning and logistics; liaising with relevant contacts on site. Budgeting and tracking all event associated costs; measuring and reporting return on investment. You will assist with developing, designing and writing of print, promotional materials, PowerPoints and handouts relevant to the events as well as researching and advising on appropriate event or advertising sponsorship opportunities. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining event-related contact lists, assisting with post-event follow up and ensuring that lead generation and participant follow up is completed. Flexibility on working hours is required as you will regularly be required to work at or attend events.
You will be dynamic, creative and be clearly enthusiastic about both the role and the opportunity provided by Squire Patton Boggs. You will understand the importance and intricacies of law firm/client relationships and this will be reflected in your professional and confidential approach to your work. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to clearly and confidently liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
In order to be successful, you will have a minimum of 12 months’ experience in an events coordinator position, ideally within professional services. You will have experience of Cvent or other event management software and have a good level of competency across all MS Office packages. Education to degree level is desirable but not essential, however being self-motivated and passionate about your role is key.
