Events and Operations Manager

Responsibilities;
As an events and operations manager, you will be supporting the general manager with the day to day running of the Guild Hall in Winchester. This will include;
*Sales and Marketing of the facilities
*Supporting the catering and bar manager to ensure a seamless service for all events
*Overseeing the operational running of the building and its events
*Manage duty managers, their assistants and pools of casual staff
*Open and close the facility if required
*Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal staff to ensure a smooth operation
*Assist with bookings and enquiries, giving quotes and agreeing packages
*Playing a key role in the selling of facilities and its flexible venue hire
*Create and maintain weekly rotas
*Recruitment, training and management of staff
*Taking full responsibility of the building in relation to fixtures, fittings and event based furniture, liaising with maintenance when required
*Stock taking and checks
*Compile and present management information and statistics on performance of the facility
*Ensure full compliance in relation to; licenses, fire and health and safety regulations, emergency plans and security

Skills and experience;
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following;
*Relevant qualification within hospitality OR 3 years experience in a similar role
*Experience in leading and managing teams
*Strong customer and interpersonal skills
*Some exposure to managing contracts, such as cleaning and maintenance
*Confident personality with a supportive and hands on approach
*Flexibility and reliable attitude to work

You will also ideally have;
*Personal license or door supervisor badge
*Experience of holding responsibility of keys for a similar sized venue

You will be working 37 hours per week on a 7 day rota basis. These hours will at times be unsociable due to the nature of the events that you will be required to attend and manage., however the emphasis of this role will be that your hours will predominantly be office based, Monday to Friday
