My Client…is an international business media company renowned for their magazines, websites, events and research for business executives based around Financial sector’s, due to continued growth they are recruiting an unflappable Events Manager who is smart, confident and has the ability to get things done. This role is based in the London office and international travel is essential. You will be responsible for the planning and execution of events and full ownership of the process. The events manager will work closely with the rest of the events team to deliver top class awards ceremonies, conferences and networking events. We have high standards and this is a demanding role with a lot of solo responsibility.

Responsibilities…

This role will include but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • End-to-end event logistics; identifying and securing venues in Europe and Asia
  • Negotiating venue contracts; securing and managing event suppliers
  • Identifying and finalizing entertainment and menu for evening events
  • Maintaining budgets, providing cost projections and accurately managing spend
  • Developing event concepts and slide packs for the awards events; writing MC and AV scripts
  • Working with research team to manage the nominee process and sourcing trophies
  • Working with the design team to produce content for the event booklet
  • Working with the production company to ensure events run smoothly on the day/night
  • Produce table plans, running orders and schedules
  • Manage and brief onsite support staff on their roles and responsibilities; be floor manager onsite
  • Assisting with the organization of staff travel and accommodation if necessary
  • Ensuring all speaker requirements and expectations are met onsite
  • Liaising with sponsorship manager to ensure agreements are executed in line with expectations
  • Researching and securing insurance policies for our events
  • Maintain and update the website and the event app with event information regularly

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and prioritize while working to tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated with good commercial awareness and a strong sense of personal accountability
  • Proven experience in organizing awards, VIP dinners, evening events, and conferences
  • Proven experience (2-3 years) in event logistics and managing budgets of over £200k
  • Great attention to detail, meticulously track budget spend and keep records
  • Fantastic negotiator; creative, able to take ownership of tasks and problem-solve
  • Great inter-personal skills and a flexible team player
  • Intermediate/advanced MS Office skills including Excel and CRM databases
  • Willing and able to travel internationally
