At Essex County Council, what we do impacts the lives of over 1.4 million residents. We work hard to meet our residents' needs - from protecting vulnerable children, to helping older residents remain independent; from improving quality of life through better public health, to unlocking economic opportunities across our towns and cities. We need to take decisions based on high-quality insights and be disciplined in the way we track our progress and performance. Our brand-new Performance & Business Intelligence group will help us do this and so much more.
Join us as an Evaluation & Impact Analyst and you'll take on a very visible role helping senior leaders to assess the effectiveness of key projects and programmes. Many of our programmes are long-term - touching on issues such as economic growth and social care - and have long-term impacts. We need expert support to help us identify sophisticated, evidence-based short-term signals that tell us the direction of travel. This is where you come in.
You'll work alongside one of the council's key business areas - Adult Social Care, Children Services, Place & Public Health - leading on complex evaluation projects and support service managers to
evaluate their own projects and programmes. Your findings will drive senior management decisions on the effectiveness of services and programmes. You'll work hand-in-glove with analysts, researchers, data developers and performance officers to ensure the organisation makes evidence-based changes and invests in services that improve the lives of all those who call Essex home.
You'll need a track record of delivering high-quality, complex research and recommendations that informs strategic decision-making. If that was in a local government or public sector environment, so much the better. On a personal level, we're also looking for the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders, influence thinking and secure collaboration. You'll need a proven commitment to your own professional development and the drive to play a full part in the development of a new and highly influential team.
We are looking for experience of carrying out research and evaluation projects that have resulted in tangible improvements, as well as the ability to identify opportunities to help solve business problems and inform the council's future strategic direction. Intellectual curiosity will be vital.
In return, you can look forward to an excellent rewards package, as well as flexible working and long-term career opportunities.
