European Sales Development Manager - CASE

Our Client is a global chemical supplier. They sell a diverse portfolio of chemicals, intermediates, polymers/resins and advanced materials used in a broad range of markets and applications.

They currently have a vacancy for a European Sales Development Manager - CASE (Coatings / Adhesives / Sealants / Elastomers). This position will be ideally be office based in South East England with regular European travel. It is a full-time permanent role reporting to the Global Business Manager

Job Purpose

  • To develop new business through effective penetration, technical promotion and service to new and existing customers and develop appropriate business for the company to support the achievement of agreed revenue targets

Key Responsibilities

  • To generate new business through research and development of the assigned companies, applications and territories
  • To develop with assigned companies a deeper understanding of their business needs and to identify development opportunities
  • To attend scheduled sales/operating meetings to enable discussion on new sales opportunities, financial sales results and sales objectives for the future
  • To keep abreast of market trends, developments and competitive activities to ensure that the business is progressive
  • To manage the cash flow and currency dynamics as well as avoiding bad debts working with the finance department on all issues
  • To provide live feedback on the business to the team, so that the team is constantly aware of all opportunities and risks for the business
  • To achieve all agreed personal targets for appointments, research calls and revenue generated from allocated accounts and new business
  • To develop structured account management plans to support the growth and development of your customers
  • To work with the agreed pricing strategy, with the goal of exceeding target prices so that optimal price and margin can be achieved
  • To produce all necessary reports, principally customer visit reports, feeding back all business opportunities, clear recommendations and actions, and follow through
  • To periodically prepare and support preparation of market assessments and strategic plans

Qualifications & Experience

  • Educated to BSc level or equivalent in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Able to demonstrate a track record in significant sustainable sales development in the coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers (CASE) industries
  • Solid technical expertise in CASE industries
  • Has a desire to travel throughout Europe on a regular basis and remain in close contact with customers
  • Additional European languages are desirable but not essential
  • Pro-active and energetic

In return our Client is offering a competitive package including a basic salary of around £60,000 - £65,000 per annum plus car, bonus & benefits. (Salary is negotiable and dependent on relevant experience. A higher basic salary may be available for an exceptional candidate).
