European Commodity Manager Procurement

This is an exciting and global opportunity to lead the purchasing of a number of key materials for a leading technological manufacturing business based in Essex, but with a high amount of flexible working & travel into Europe.

n/b: This role will involve to extensive travelling and the ideal candidate will need to be willing to work in a true international environment.

Description

  • Develop and role out the global Commodity strategy based on product needs and secure implementation.
  • Understand updates on latest supply market information/developments and having interface with factory R&D projects.

  • Build and sustain competitive and capable global supplier portfolio based on business technology requirements.

  • Engage with supplier technology roadmap to drive alignment of future product offering.

  • Execute Global Commodity strategy with cross functional alignment to deliver commercial objectives.

  • Negotiate supplier product support quotations against pricing trends/benchmarks/cost models and execute supplier sourcing nominations.

  • Collaborate and influencing decision making with key cross internal functional teams.

Profile

Ideal candidate:

  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in procurement within an international industrial environment, with a total of 8+ years in Procurement.
  • Proven experience in self managing a team of people with a given set of objectives.

  • Purpose driven individual, target oriented and used to work under pressure.

  • Good negotiation skills, while good and professional relationships with suppliers are kept.

  • Very strong stakeholder management skills.

  • Fun personality and ability to build relationships with colleagues with a range of skills and background.

Job Offer

up to £60,000
