We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join a global mechanical specialist company. Benefits of the role include fantastic routes for progression, opportunity to work for a global company, 20 days holiday + bank holidays on a sliding scale, free parking and access to private healthcare.
Schedule: This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Occasional flexibility may be required as job duties demand.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions
-Generate technical and commercial proposals on a daily basis for end users, contractors, agents and distributors and
EPC companies. Following specific cost estimating procedures for the different products.
-Organize personal work load to meet deadlines.
-Participate in team meetings and discuss assignment status'.
-Review proposals with Project Managers and adjust proposal material in response to review.
-Generate and submit invoices on a daily basis for current orders. Following department procedures for invoice
generation, quality, review and timely billing.
-Compile expense reports, timecards, supplier invoices and other documentation as back-up that is to be submitted to
the client with the invoice.
-Coordinate the review and approval of invoices with Project Managers.
-Responsible for updating system databases with new customer information.
-Responsible for maintaining internal sales proposal systems.
-Responsible for updating project achieve system.
-Initiating project set following a purchase order award.
-Run potential customers through compliance checks.
-Obtain freight quotes.
-All other duties as assigned.
-Willing to gain experience by visiting construction job sites.
-Located in commuting distance to the office in Sidcup, Kent.
The ideal candidate will have the following capabilities:
-Extensive knowledge of and previous experience preparing and coordination preparation of qualification submittals and proposal development in terms of deliverables, schedules, and the coordination of information resources to meet schedules.
-Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
-Position requires the ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead, and manage change.
-Candidates must possess strong organizational skills and a strategic perspective.
-Extensive knowledge of the request for Information and Request for Proposal process, preferably in the construction industry.
-Must be proficient in the use of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 365).
-Must have capabilities to write, read and converse in English. Other languages such as French, Spanish and Italian or desirable, but not essential.
-Capable of reading and understanding specifications and basic construction drawings.
-Understand the importance of team work, focusing on team success rather than seeking personal credit.
-Be highly motivated, and have the desire to work hard and do whatever necessary to help the team succeed.
-Understand the nuances of team dynamics. Know how your words and actions impact others in a group situation. Capable of building and maintaining productive work relationships.
