My client is a Portsmouth based Contractor seeking to employ an Estimator in their commercial division.

An experienced Estimator is required to coordinate the enquiry and tendering processes for projects in the Hampshire / West Sussex region.

The estimator will have strong technical skills gained from extensive project experiences on site with contractors, ideally with an commercial build background. The role demands a structured and well organised style, good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

To undertake commercial activities
To identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process.
To identify risks and opportunities.
To lead the supply chain enquiry process.
To produce a detailed control document at handover to delivery team.
To conduct their role in a way which is consistent with the company's sustainability objectives.
To complete and manage project take-offs to the required level of detail.
To lead and prepare the complete commercial and pricing element of a tender or cost plan.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Good standard of mathematical ability.
Proven experience of controlling costs, timing and quality in line with targets.
Understanding of various construction methods.
Using Microsoft suite of Office programmes; including Excel, Word, Outlook.
Using estimating software - ideally Causeway
Using Conquest Estimating system or similar.
Ability to prioritise and plan to deliver agreed objectives.
Appropriate CSCS card preferable.
