We are currently looking for an Estates Operative to join our team. As a Facilities and Estates Operative at Together Housing, you will be responsible for assisting and supporting in the successful delivery of a customer-oriented and effective Cleaning & Waste Management Service. You will ensure that all internal and external communal areas are left clean, safe, and attractive for our customers by using a combination of hand tools, power tools, and chemical agents when required. You will also undertake minor repairs to communal properties, gardens, and the wider estate, and address any customer inquiries promptly and effectively.

Requirements

We Key responsibilities of the Estates Operative...

  • Carry out routine cleaning of all internal and external communal areas, ensuring these areas are left clean, safe and attractive for our customers; using a combination of hand tools, power tools and chemical agents when required.
  • Assist with the removal of graffiti, fly-tipped waste, and undertake minor repairs to communal properties, gardens, and the wider estate, including planned deep cleaning, while ensuring that access footpaths are kept clear of hazards or obstructions.
  • Handle customer inquiries promptly and effectively, ensuring clear and professional communication at all levels to resolve issues and maintain high satisfaction.
  • Recommends any suggestions/improvements to influence wider decision making via appropriate channels. 
  • Plans and organises workload to meet deadlines in line with the departmental service plans.
  • Resolves day to day issues, or identifies matters that require escalating
  • Take personal responsibility for ensuring that designated duties are executed at all times in accordance with policies and procedures.  

We are looking for someone who has...

  • Full UK Manual Drivers License
  • Relevant prior experience in cleaning, caretaking or maintenance
  • Experience working in a customer-oriented environment with a flexible approach to working hours
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate relevant cleaning/caretaking equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act and specific site safety
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy to enable accurate record-keeping
