The main responsibilities of the Equipment Engineer job in Manchester include maintaining, repairing and improving production equipment for breakdown and troubleshooting purposes in order to optimise uptime and minimise downtime for the equipment and tools within production. Other responsibilities include initiating and applying equipment performance programs, deliver cost reduction, cycle time reduction and yield improvement as well as performing maintenance task risk assessments adhering to health and safety requirements at all times.
The role is based on a rotating day and night shift pattern of 4 on 4 off 12 hours shifts so the candidate must be prepared to work shifts for this role. The role also comes with fantastic career progression to Principal Engineer or Manager level!
The ideal candidate for the Equipment Engineer job in Manchester will come from a Semiconductor or multi-skilled background with electrical, electromechanical and mechanical maintenance experience with the ability to fault find to component level and solve complex technical problems. The candidate must have a minimum of a HNC/HND in a relevant engineering based discipline.
