EPoS Service Engineer (Trainee)

We are a provider of Touch Screen EPoS (Electronic Point of Sale) solutions to the hospitality & retail industry in Scotland. We require a highly motivated candidate to assist our team installing, maintaining and supporting our range of business systems.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist Install team with EPoS system builds, in-house
  • Visit client sites to repair / fault find and swap out I.T / EPoS hardware
  • Programming EPoS applications to clients individual requirements
  • Provide our clients with operational advice and support via telephone, internet or on-site training
  • Assist with on-site installations of new systems
  • Provide On Call out of hours / weekend support cover (on a rota basis)

Essential Skills

  • Current and valid drivers licence
  • Software skills - knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
  • Be fluent around a range of other programs such as Microsoft Office

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge of structured cabling
  • A recognised qualification in one of the following: Computing / Electronics / Engineering
  • An understanding of networking principles (DHCP / routing / wireless 802.11)
  • Hardware skills - assembling / disassembling PC Systems, troubleshooting PC based PoS hardware, PoS Printers and hand-held devices

Additional Skills / Abilities:

  • Confidence - you should be resilient and able to think independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills - confidence in communicating with customers
  • A "can-do" attitude
  • Ability to travel including, working away from home on occasion


Full training will be provided on all our products. Ideally residing within Aberdeen you will be based at our Smithfield Road office. This position would be particularly suitable for a college leaver or young person who has an interest and ability with I.T. and is looking for full time employment.

Starting salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. A company vehicle, tools, phone and laptop will be provided after a qualifying time. Weekend work is compulsory as part of a rota.
