Based in Sittingbourne and with offices in Honiton, Stafford and Italy, Ecologia is a multi-disciplinary, specialist contaminated land consultant/contractor that provides advice and undertakes site investigation and remediation projects across the UK and Europe. With an established and excellent reputation for the construction and operation of in-situ remediation plant for soil and groundwater we also offer specialised support to insurance companies/loss adjusters dealing with environmental claims ranging from small-scale domestic spillages to major industrial incidents.

We are currently recruiting for the following role:

Environmental Technician - Sittingbourne, Kent

We have an opportunity for an Environmental Technician to join our Sittingbourne team based in Kent. This is a varied role that will involve a mix of site-based and office work to support the Project team. Site attendance is generally confined within a 2 hrs driving radius from our office.

Working within a dynamic team, candidates will be required to assist in the response to pollution incidents, remediation of oil spills, investigation and remediation of potentially contaminated land. Site attendance will include emergency remedial measures, environmental sampling, monitoring and maintenance of simple remediation systems and liaising with contractors. When not on site, key duties will include updating project records, equipment maintenance, assistance with project preparation and report writing.

The successful candidate could come from a range of different backgrounds, but experience and knowledge of any of the following would be a distinct advantage; oil spill response, groundworks, environmental sampling, equipment maintenance, building maintenance. Our key requirements are for a personable and practical individual with a flexible attitude to work, good communication and problem solving skills. An ability to use common computer software (Word, Excel) is required, as is the ability to work outdoors as an effective member of a team and on your own initiative. A full UK/EC driving licence is essential.
