Selfridges are looking to bring on board an Environment Manager to help us achieve our sustainability targets across the business. We use our position to inspire our people, partners and customers to respect our environment, build responsibility, and champion sustainable energy practices that contribute to healthy and happy communities. This is a key role helping to shape and deliver this objective.
KNOW THE ROLE
The person chosen for this role will be recognised and respected as the companywide authority on all energy and sustainability operational matters within real estate management, including sustainable material use and design. Support the management of environmental services, accreditations and annual reporting requirements.
To ensure Selfridges achieves the yearly carbon reduction target and is on track to deliver the 15% carbon emissions by 2020 and oversee 5 to 10 year planning including scope 3 and science-based carbon reduction targets and renewables implementation. To oversee all waste and energy operational processes in particular specific reduction targets, policies and guidelines
KNOW WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
To succeed in this role you will have excellent knowledge and experience within Sustainability, Real Estate or Building Services. You will have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. You will have project and transformational programme management experience with a good understanding of:
• Building Control Systems
• Energy Legislation, with particular reference to CRC, EUETS, CHPQA, RHI and Environment Permitting
• Energy Procurement and utilities commodity market monitoring
• Awareness of broad sustainability issues
You will have a flair for building relationships at all levels, as well as the ability to prioritise your own workload, to adapt to change and to put the customer at the heart of everything you do.
