English Practitioner based in Taunton

Monarch Education have a dedicated SEND team, who work alongside special schools and alternative provisions to support children with additional needs.

We are currently working with an Ofsted rated 'Good' school in Taunton. This school is looking for an English practitioner to support students up to GCSE level.

About the school:

* A small all boys school
* Educates students between the ages of 10 & 17
* Dedicated, hardworking senior team who have worked to improve the school's progress
* All the students have an EHCP relating to SEMHD (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties)
* A boarding provision for up to 10 students
* Good links with local alternative provisions
* Staff have consistently high behaviour standards
* Students have good relationships with their key workers

About the Role:

* You will be required to work on a 1:1 or small group basis
* Starting ASAP, supporting students through English classes from KS2 - KS4
* GCSE experience would be ideal, as booster classes are due to start in preparation for exams
* Pay will vary depending on your qualifications

About you:

* Previous experience of working in a school setting
* Calm and resilient approach
* Creative
* Experience supporting students with SEMHD would be an advantage
* Patient, you may be supporting students who are working below their expected level in regards to their age
* A passion for helping young people progress and develop.
* You may be considering a PGCE and would like more experience in a school setting before applying


This role requires you to work at least one level above the students you're supporting. You will need either -
* A degree in English
* QTS, with experience as an English Teacher (NQTs are welcome to apply)
* We are also happy to speak with experienced HLTA's who have a high grade A Level English pass

* Have a right to work in the UK (A valid visa)
* Two recent child based references and relevant DBS/Police checks.
