English Language and Literature Tutor
Position: English Language and Literature Tutor (1:1)
Location: Wrexham
Syllabus: Full coverage of the Edexcel examination board requirements
Hours: 2 hours per week (increasing to 3 hours after the Christmas break)
This role is self-employed
We are seeking a qualified and experienced tutor with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) to provide dedicated, one-on-one support for a student preparing for English Language and Literature exams.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive tuition covering the Edexcel syllabus for English Language and Literature.
- Assist the student in collating and organising resources and materials to support their studies.
- Provide and adapt learning resources, including producing lesson notes and personalised revision booklets.
- Ensure the student fully understands the requirements of their learning tasks and homework.
- Use ICT tools and equipment to support and enhance the student’s learning experience.
- Provide opportunities for the student to ask questions and clarify expectations to reinforce understanding.
- Support the student in planning, organising, and managing their time effectively for learning and homework tasks.
- Include sensory or movement breaks during sessions, as needed, to help the student regulate their energy levels and maintain focus.
Requirements:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) is essential.
- Strong knowledge of the Edexcel syllabus for English Language and Literature.
- Proven experience in tailoring learning resources and providing structured support for students.
- Patience, creativity, and a commitment to helping the student achieve their academic potential.
Location: The role will be based in Wrexham, with in-person sessions required.
