Organisation Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 assessors to join a successful Engineering Team at a leading Training Provider.
This is a fantastic opportunity to pass on your skills and knowledge within the Engineering industry and inspire the next generation of engineers.
Working in a forward thinking and positive environment, you will be responsible for assessing apprentices on a range of Engineering disciplines at various levels.
Excellent organisational skills, enthusiasm and a passion for Engineering with the ability to motivate and inspire apprentices are all essential.
The successful candidate must have completed a full Engineering Apprenticeship and have extensive industry work experience.
They must also have relevant experience of working within the work-based learning or FE environments and have a thorough knowledge and understanding of NVQ Apprenticeships.

Job Description:

Permanent Contract 37 hrs (FTE) will consider part time applications
Based: Middlewich

As one of our assessors you will deliver a professional, high quality service to a caseload of apprentices, encouraging them to reach their potential as you support, advise and guide them through their Engineering Apprenticeship.
You will work remotely across North West of England with a primary focus on Cheshire + Warrington and Greater Manchester, and in North Staffordshire and North Shropshire, Midlands so you’ll need to be prepared to travel and have use of a vehicle.
A car allowance is provided.
Occasional teaching may be required therefore a teaching qualification would be an advantage but not essential as training can be provided.
You will provide support and mentor learners to ensure they achieve completion in a timely manner and adhere to company targets set.

Accountabilities
• Assessing apprentices using an Electronic Portfolio
• Carry out administrative duties associated with assessments
• Interviewing and conducting initial assessments of learners onto the programme
• Monitoring and recording the progress of learners throughout their programme
• Providing feedback and offering advice
• Coaching, supporting and motivating learners to achieve

Person Specification
The successful applicant will possess the following:
• Relevant Engineering qualification (Manufacturing – mechanical/electrical engineering, maintenance)
• English & maths qualifications (at Level 2 or above) – Desirable
• Assessor qualification (A1/TAQA)
• Internal Verification qualification (IQA qualification) - Desirable
• Genuine passion towards learning and development, being able to communicate and empathise with learners
• Ability to motivate and inspire achievement
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to promote the benefits of apprenticeships to businesses and employers
• Effective organisation and time management skills
• Driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential as travelling is required. (a car allowance is provided)
