My client is an established business based in Northampton who have recently partnered with a global business making them a leading player in the field of engineering that they operate in. Due to expansion they are seeking a number of engineering professionals to join the business to consolidate their place in their markets.

The company is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the projects and manufacturing teams within the business.

The principle responsibility will be to assist the design engineering team with the build of special purpose jigs and structures for manufacturing and R&D purposes, as well as working on the shop floor as required. Projects could involve working out the feasibility of designs and reporting back to the design team to change specific components in order to improve manufacturability, or building jigs and fixtures to assist the manufacturing process.

The role may also include responsibility for small projects, sourcing suitable tools / materials for each project and communicating with a number of different internal customers, possibly having different and conflicting timescales.  

To be considered you will need to demonstrate:

* Recognised engineering apprenticeship / engineering qualification

* Previously worked on a manufacturing environment as a toolmaker or had responsibility for the design / manufacture / build of industrial equipment  / jigs / fixtures from another discipline

*  Flexible nature and the ability to work to conflicting deadlines, sometimes which will involve working overtime as required.    

* Previous experience of responsibility for small projects would be a distinct advantage.
