We have excellent opportunities available for you to join our expanding team as an Engineer based in Southampton. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience, plus benefits.

About the Engineer role:

You will be working on key strategic projects for Ordnance Survey using cutting-edge technologies. Working in an agile team, you will understand business requirements and develop the appropriate solution that meets business needs.

You will have the opportunity to apply your experience in software engineering, support and maintenance to build scalable, performant systems that are easy to maintain and support. Experience around Deployment, Debugging, Testing, Scaling and Monitoring modern cloud-based systems will be beneficial.

What we are looking for in our ideal Engineer:

A natural problem solver, you will be a collaborator who relishes the opportunity to apply technology to the delivery of business-focussed solutions.

You will also be somebody who is unafraid to learn and apply new technologies to business situations, but also somebody who is able to take a long-term view, see the bigger picture, and able to balance risk and opportunity.

Ideally you will have a strong background in the application of Geospatial technologies at an enterprise level, and in the delivery of customer-facing public cloud-based solutions and architectures.

Our ideal Engineer will have the following knowledge, skills and experience:

- Software engineer best practice

- Geospatial and cloud-based technology

- One or more programming languages - JavaScript, C#, Python

- Ability to influence key business and technical stakeholders

- Development of technical strategies

- Implementing new engineering techniques whilst working with development teams
