Job Title: Engine Stripper
Location: Barton Under Needwood
Hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Thursday), 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM (Friday)
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking an Engine Stripper to join our Engine Strip & Transmission team at our Barton Under Needwood site. This role involves the dismantling and reassembling of engines in line with manufacturer standards and warranty requirements. The ideal candidate will have mechanical experience and the ability to work within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Dismantle all mechanical components of an engine as per instructions.
Collect new parts and distribute them to the correct engines/machinery.
Jet wash engines after final checks before dispatch.
Carry out any other reasonable duty or task as instructed by the manager to support Wabtec UK's goals and objectives.
Work in accordance with all 5S activities.
Report any near misses.
Ensure waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
Mentor trainees/apprentices when applicable.
Report any issues or problems to the line manager.
Comply with all company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Personnel policies and procedures.
Take on additional responsibilities or tasks within the employee's skills and abilities.
Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in motor repairs or equivalent.
Experience in the rail or automotive industry.
Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
Mechanical experience.
Strong teamwork skills.
Flexible attitude towards work and responsibilities.
Willingness to learn and adapt to changing deadlines and short lead times.
Key Performance Indicators:
Successful and timely completion of tasks with zero faults.
