Public Practice Recruitment Ltd are looking for an ATT/CTA Qualified accountant to join this dynamic Employment Tax Team based in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will need to have a minimum of 4 or 5 years’ experience of working within a public practice firm with a background in Employment Tax/Employment Services, as well as a good understanding of handling Ex-Pat issues.

The firm offers advice to a range of businesses entities; from start-ups through to multinational groups across the Midlands and beyond.
Now looking to expand their Employment Tax offering and significantly develop the team, our client is looking for a confident and technically sound Employment Tax Manager to work closely with the Business Development Director in order to create the strategy for the department moving forwards. The Employment Tax Manager Job in Birmingham will involve promoting the service offering to both the existing client base and potential new clients across the Midlands.
Whilst the role will be mainly based in the Birmingham office as a base, there will be the need to travel across the Midlands to both client meetings and to liaise with colleagues in other offices. The successful applicant will be working very closely with the VAT team and wider Tax Team, with input into how the various departments go to market in a cohesive manner. Strong influencing and interpersonal skills are therefore imperative.
Responsibilities for the Employment Tax Manager job include:
- Delivering a first-class service to clients, maintaining Client relationships
- Liaising with clients and Managers and Partners
- Providing Employment Tax compliance advice to a range of corporate and SME clients
- Promoting the Employment Tax Service offering to both existing and potential clients
- Handling complex Ex-Pat and domicile issues
- Managing projects and multiple assignments
- Managing more Junior members of staff
- Managing the monthly billing process
- Working closely with the BD Director and the VAT and Tax teams to create the future growth strategy for the department
The right Employment Tax Manager for this role will be ATT/CTA qualified with a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working within a pro-active accountancy firm (with some of this time spent in an Employment Tax focused role). Effective communication skills will be crucial for this role.
