Each Faculty at Coventry University has its own dedicated Employment Support Team. We are now looking to recruit an Employability & Placement Advisor working within the faculty of Health & Life Science.


The post-holder will report directly to the Head of the Employability and Placement Unit, joining an existing team, working closely with other Employer Engagement Managers, Employability & Placement Advisors and Student Employability Coaches. The post holder will have responsibility for providing well-structured advice and guidance to HLS staff and students regarding work experience, graduate employment opportunities and employability- related events, in addition to researching and scoping relevant opportunities for students and promoting student opportunities. This will involve excellent organisational skills and providing high quality student-centred support, to translate opportunities into student placement and graduate employment outcomes.


You will also provide an individual appointment service for HLS undergraduates in order to advise on work experience and employment opportunities, with a special emphasis on students in the Departments of Biomolecular and Sport Sciences, in order to specifically target improvement in these areas in relation to the DHLE survey.


You will need to be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience of working in a commercial or similarly focussed environment. You will need excellent written and oral communication skills as you will be Liaising with a range of staff, including senior managers. You will be required to deliver professional presentations to large groups of students. The post holder will need to be highly adaptable and business-focussed, able to provide a responsive student-centred service.
