We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, registered practitioner, with evidence of Masters level education or equivalent, to join our existing well established team of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs) to manage patients with minor injuries who attend Morriston Emergency Department and Neath Port Talbot Minor Injuries Unit .
Alternatively you maybe an experienced registered practitioner who is committed and interested in training to become an minor injuries practitioner. If so candidates must be prepared and committed to study at Masters level or equivalent in the management of patients with minor injuries.
For a band 7 post, experienced ENP / ECP must be able to demonstrate evidence of development of clinical competence within a Band 7 scope of practice. You must be able to work autonomously and work alongside medical colleagues and other health care professionals. You will also be required to work as a mentor to less experienced and trainee ENPs. At Swansea Bay Health Board a band 7 scope includes the management of patient with injuries to the axial skeleton and the appendicular skeleton, eye injuries, skin wounds including burns, FBs, reduction of joint dislocations, manipulation of minor fractures including distal radius fractures. This covers all age ranges from 1years old to the older adult. If you do not have the full range of competencies we would consider employing you in a band 6 post, providing you with further education and training and uplifting your post to a band 7 on successful completion.
For a band 6 training post you need to demonstrate experience of working in an emergency department / minor injury unit environment, with experience of triaging patients. Experience of requesting radiographs from triage and the use of patient group directions is desirable.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
