TITLE: Electro-Mechanical Fitter
LOCATION: Buckinghamshire
DURATION: 6 Months Fixed Contract (initially)
RATE/SALARY: £27,114pa (£13,557 first 6 months)
HOURS: 37hrs per week: Mon-Thu = 08:00 - 16:45 Friday = 08:00 - 12:00

Our client is an international recognised, 'high-technology' supplier of electrical power systems and generators to industry. Operating worldwide, the organisation employs in excess of 14,000 individuals across 12 countries. Their main UK manufacturing site, which houses over 550 people, in a modern, purpose built unit in Buckinghamshire, is expanding its engineering team to assist with increased orders.

Initially employed on a direct 6 month fixed-term contract, the position is expected to be extended indefinitely for all capable and reliable engineers. The pool of contract labour is also targeted regularly for permanent transfers, so there is a very real opportunity for you to become permanent with the company following your initial fixed contract. Working within the returns and refurbishment department, you will be responsible for assisting with the stripdown, fault find, repair and re-build of power generators, using a range of mechanical and electrical tools and equipment.

- A proven ability to diagnose and repair electro-mechanical equipment.
- Comfortable working from technical drawings / schematics that include both electrical and mechanical aspects.
- Experience using a range of Electrical (flash/surge/resistance) and mechanical tools.
- Ability to work well with other departments (e.g. engineering, test etc)
- Ability to lift equipment/generators up to 25KG
- Awareness of IPC colering standards and Quality Management Systems
- PC Literate & SAP awareness (preferred)
- A flexible approach and a willingness to learn additional manufacturing skills
