Job Title: APPROVED ELECTRICIANS / ELECTRICIANS / TEST AND INSPECT ELECTRICIANS

Location: PLYMOUTH AND CORNWALL

Salary: UP TO £29,923 for Approved Electricians and UP TO £27,434 for Electricians

Our Role

Within the Plymouth and Cornwall area we deliver a variety of Mechanical and Electrical Projects for our customers, including new builds and refurbishments and currently have an opportunity for a number of operatives to join our team due to new project wins.

Working on these contracts, you will be able to demonstrate competency in various types of industrial and commercial installations as well as any necessary servicing and maintenance work without immediate supervision in a safe, efficient and economical manner.

Your role will be to deliver new installations in commercial and industrial premises, together with commissioning and testing electrical systems and equipment, issuing relevant certifications as required and setting out jobs from drawings and specifications.

Your Skills and Experience

To be successful in applying for this role, you must be able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of Electrical systems operating principals and ensure compliance with the current edition of BS7671, Construction Industry Safety Regulations as well as SEC/SSE policies and procedures.

You will have completed your Electrical Apprenticeship and will have achieved an NVQ Level 3 (or approved equivalent) in installation and/or servicing/maintenance work or will have obtained a pass in the City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 or 2351 or 2330 levels 2 and 3 (or approved equivalent).In addition we require Achievement Measurement 2, City and Guilds 2391 or equivalent and will have a thorough working knowledge of Industry Codes of Practice.

You should be qualified to Assessment and Measurement 2 (AM2) and have a good working knowledge of the 18th Edition: 2008 Wiring Regulations. Sound knowledge of Industrial, Commercial & Domestic installation requirements and the ability to effectively record faults/deviations of such. You should be qualified in City and Guilds 236 part 1 and part 2 or equivalent

Test and Inspection electricians will carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reporting to BS7671:2008 standards and emergency lighting tests to BS5266 standards, and will extend to the installation and removal of Energy Monitoring equipment and assisting with Thermography reporting. You will be expected to manage your time effectively and liaise directly with our clients to arrange electrical isolations.

PASMA / IPAF training will be advantageous

A full UK driving licence is vital for this role as well as a passion for safety and the ability to work well in a team as well as independently.
