REED Engineering &  Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering Company with a global client base.

To Work as part of a team to ensure that the plant runs at optimum level, minimising downtime and achieving all internal maintenance demands. Will be required to work on a Panama shift pattern.The sucessful candidate will need to be flexible with regards to hours worked to be able to meet the demands of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carrying out effective electrical maintenance and repair on machinery and services
• Ensuring machinery and services are maintained to meet individual department's requirements
• Conducting appropriate checks on machinery/equipment
• Operating machinery and equipment only when trained, including start-ups, shut downs and maintaining operations at the agreed level, maximizing productivity
• To communicate effectively and accurately any information about stock requirements and usage to the Engineering Stores Person
• Compilation of any reports in relation to work undertaken including but not limited to: Fault Repairs, PPM, Overtime, Lost Time Reports, Breakdown Reports and expenditure
• Ensure that all machinery and equipment is used of a safe standard, and any malfunctions/missing components are immediately reported
• To take personal responsibility for their own and others safety through safe working practices
• Responsible for machinery isolation
• Responsible for care of tools and equipment used
• Participation in shift briefings
• Liaising with operations team to support continuous improvement
• To buddy new employees to share knowledge of the job and plant
• Adhering to all site policies

• Dynamic risk assessment for bespoke jobs and ensure involvement of appropriate staff
• Quick and effective repairing of all equipment
• Proactive and reactive approach to plant repairs
• Completion of work arising from daily action lists to agreed time and priority
• Sign off on all work completed
• Keep records of parts and equipment used
• Maintain good standards of housekeeping leaving all working areas clean and tidy
• Reporting of defects with tools and equipment.
• To work with off-going/oncoming operative to ensure effective handover of area between shifts
• Ensure good attendance and timekeeping

Panama Shift Pattern (details below)

This is a slow rotating shift pattern that uses 4 teams and two 12-hr shifts to provide 24/7 coverage. The working and non-working days follow this pattern: 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off. Each team works the same shift (day or night) for 28 days then switches over to the other shift for the next 28 days. After 56 days, the same sequence starts over.

Experience/Qualifications/Skills

• Time served Electrical engineer
• Previous experience of manufacturing or processing industry; and major plant and equipment
• Proven track record of problem solving
• Experience of Planned Preventative Maintenance systems (Shire)
• Exposure to Dynamic risk assessments
• Good communications skills
• Experience of having actively participated in team briefings or involvement in continuous improvement
• Good attendance and timekeeping
